OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES

ACTIVITIES:

Canoe : Vuna Valley guests have free use of our canoes.  Take a canoe and gently paddle up the Umtamvuna River gorge with the most spectacular views of the sandstone cliffs on either side where you see and hear the Fish Eagles, Samanga monkeys  and other raptors. Paddle up as far as you can go and there is a private small beach “ Lepards Beach” where you can rest, swim or explore . Life jackets provided .

Coffee Farm visit: Beaver Creek is the famous neighboring coffee farm where you may go on a coffee tour or just taste or purchase their different brands with something wickedly sweet from their coffee shop.

Mountain biking:  Bring your own or hire and ride the different  clearly marked trails at a neighboring MTB trail centre with spectacular views of the gorge and nature reserve. Trails are for beginners and the experienced. The famous annual “Sardine Mountain Bike Classic” starts and finishes at the Pont, 50m away from Vuna Valley.

A true adrenalin rush: Experience a twin jet ski sea ride that takes 2 passengers to swim with the dolphins or spot the whales with a qualified skipper.

Deep sea fishing with qualified skipper which launches from Port Edward beach.

Rock fishing on the famous Port Edward Slash rock.

Wild Coat Casino – a 10 min drive from Vuna Valley –  Casino, movies, games room, ten pin bowling, live shows and restaurants and of course the famous Wild Coast Sun Golf course and horse riding on the beach.

Crocodile Farm is a 20 min drive away

Bird park – Uvongo

1 hr drive to experience the Big Five jump and swing at Oribi Gorge.

Margate and Shelly beach are a 20 min drive with easy access on a double highway from Port Edward or you may travel along the bottom coastal road for a meander.

Beaches: Port Edward beach is a family favorite beach as it is manned by Life guards and base for NSRI.

Late afternoon you can witness the return of the fishing boats.
